Thinking about Bol!

Ears pricked

Cat Media related

Ogita

This is Ogita. It’s been a while.
I have some news concerning the Cat Media.

The wonderful piece of news comes from this morning.
“Cat post office, 2 Bring together family, Kumamoto-Amakusa”
It’s interesting how they continue to interact and the others are watching over even though their identity is revealed.
It makes me imagine stories; perhaps the other residents are thinking “I want to write letters as well.”

Below is a topic about what is already done investigating but why not.

Mid-June (it seems that the air date is different for different regions)
In “Pochitama,” a program by TV Tokyo, there was a program called “Cat Camera.”
In this project, they hang a camera to the cat’s neck and the owner or the program commentators comment on the pictures.
Unfortunately, the content of this project is not interesting but I figured there must have been a source to come up with idea and roughly did some research.

In Kanto, there was a company which sold cameras to put on cats and Takara Tommy was selling a camera for pets called “Wonderful Shot.”
They can be thought as an extension of setting up a webcam to watch over pets in absent homes.

Therefore, I could not particularly sympathize with “Cat Camera” but there were interesting points about them.
In fact, Pochitama’s “Cat Camera” can be a “box” for “photographing” the shape and size of the camera.
There are various cameras nowadays but I guess it turns out this way…
It must be too big and troublesome for the cat but it must make humans happy as one can easily tell it is a “camera.”

By the way, “Wonderful Shot” seems to have already stopped production.
I have also investigated the reason it stopped.
On the internet, I found some stories how the camera dropped or flew as the cat shook his head. Unlike the “Cat Camera” which was for a short period of time, realistically, it might have been difficult to directly hang the camera.
It was around 10,000 yen so it must have been troublesome if the cat dropped it so easily.

Furthermore, I have been taking notice on how the cat problem became a trigger to a murder case.

Excuse me for the long paragraphs.

Kawakami: I’ve read about cat post office as well. A neighbor living 200m away from you. You could go see the person if you have something to say but instead, they attach a message to a cat’s neck. The inconvenience of the possibility of the message not being delivered and not knowing when the reply would come back is what makes it interesting. If the you receive a reply in few hours, you can happily say “An express letter!” This is an example which makes us happy as well.
It is a bit frustrating how the naming overlap with “Cat Camera.”

Perhaps it might be better to go interview them.

Indeed, this is a topic which can be investigated further.
Perhaps an Amakusa Cat post office summit!
#In Hokkaido, people tend to attach “summit” to every gathering even when they have no relations with the real summit.
